I attended the BKK Instructors’ Course today. The training was led by Shihan David Pickthall. The photo was taken at the end of the course, and yes, I am in there.
The focus was on ways of teaching kihon in a way which helps students deliver power while executing the techniques.
The AGM is held every year and some basic administrative decisions have to be made – the election of officers, reviewing the accounts of the organisation, etc. It is also an opportunity for the membership to raise any issues and discuss any concerns. As usual the discussion was candid (kyokushin karate people are not known for being reticent) and friendly. One of the main things we discussed was the ongoing review of the BKK constitution which is a ‘work in progress’ and, once it has been circulated to dojo operators for consultation, will be voted on by the whole membership.
